The ETU Secretary General Michael Fysentzidis was unanimously awarded by the Apollonian Awards Committee for his contribution to athletism and the promotion of the Olympic Sport Education. Michael Fysentzidis who also serves as Vice President of the International Olympic Academy (IOA), received the award from the Hellenic Association of Physical Education Alumni, which is one of the five bodies organizing the Apollonia Awards every year. The 15th annual awarding of "Art, Sport, Science and Society Routes" was realized in the hall of the Olympic Taekwondo Stadium in Athens and the event was dedicated to Road Safety.


Worth to mention that last year, the award was given to the famous film director Yannis Smaragdis. Among the awardees of this year ceremony were the Kick Boxing World Champion, Mike Zambidis, also known to the public as Iron Mike, the former Hellenic basketball federal coach, Panagiotis Giannakis, the President of the Cyprus Sports Organization, Dr. Clea Hadjistefanou Papaellina, the composer Takis Mousafir, the singer Tasos Chalkias, the Deputy Mayor of Palaio Faliro Municipality, Alexander Koromila, etc.


Also, among the contributors in the organization of the event were the Greek Olympians Association, the Panhellenic Gyms Association, the National Association of Physical Education Alumni, the Association of Gym Owners in Attica and the Institute of International and Greek Sports Law.
