The first competition day for the WTE European Cadet Championships 2017 has been realized today (05/10) with the first fights of the young Taekwondo participants at the Competition Venue BOK in Budapest, Hungary.


Due to the impressive contribution and effort of the Organizing Committee for an effective Championship, the media enthusiasm concerning the event exceeds the expectations.


Hence, the M4 Sports Channel visited the hosting venue for an exclusive interview with the President of the Hungarian Taekwondo Federation Miklos Patakfalvy, who explained how vital is for the Federation, the sport and the country to host a continental event.


The HTF President Miklos Patakfalvy commented: “It is our pleasure to host the WTE European Cadet Championships 2017 here in Hungary. The main goal of the Hungarian Taekwondo Federation is to organise such principal events since it is a step forward to the expansion of Taekwondo sport within Hungary. By hosting these significant competitions, we take the sport to a higher level as it deserves, with the increasing of the media interest to Taekwondo. Thus, the sport can earn more fans and more athletes in our country with the proper promotion and development.”


Moreover, Mr. Miklos Patakfalvy also mentioned that is an innovating event since for first time Taekwondo cadet athletes are using electronic headgears with protection mask. Concluding, he wished to all the athletes and individuals involved in this enjoyable event, a pleasant stay and good luck in the competition.
