Including Breakdown of Points Earned from 2015 Onwards

I am pleased to announce the release of new functionality that I know many of you have been waiting for and that is the ability to export the latest World and Olympic Ranking into excel both from the WTF Profile and from logging into the WTF GMS.

On top of this we have also added both on the screen and in the export the breakdown of points earned per tournament in 2015, summary of points earned 2012-2014 and total points. You can also click on a particular athlete and it will highlight that row to make it easier to review a particular athlete's point.

Along with this new functionality that has been released, we have re-applied the below mentioned bylaw to the rankings formula for the calculation of Olympic Ranking Points.

Based on the Ranking ByLaw Passed on March 18th 2014, Article 3, point 8 states that

• 8 G1 & G2 ranking point allocation of Olympic Weight Division:

• 8.1 Only the best five (5) results from G1 tournaments from January 1st 2014 to December 31st 2014, shall count for the ranking in the selected Olympic Weight Division independently from the World Weight Division where they were achieved.

• 8.2 Only the best three (3) results from G2 tournaments from January 1 to December 31, shall count for the ranking in the selected Olympic Weight Division independently from the World Weight Division where they were achieved.

This has been done as the formula had broken and it has now been put back in place and hence there will be changes in the Olympic Ranking Points only for any athlete affected by this bylaw.

If you have any questions on the above new functionality please contact the WTF Licence & Ranking Administration Manager Mr. Kabir Kar directly at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

My team and I look forward to seeing many of you at the upcoming World Championships in Chelyabinsk next month.

Sincerely,

Justin Tenbeth

Director – WTF Global Membership System (GMS)

Everybody who visited an international sports event knows that sports brings people together. Also in Nalchik, new friendships were closed inside and outside the sport venue. The International Referees officiating at the 1st ETU European Championships Olympic weight categories were during their stay in Nalchik escorted by two extraordinary volunteers, Farida Nazranova and Oksana Stepanova. These two university students were day and night available for the International Referees and showed them around in the city, went on sight seeing tour with them and in the evenings gathered together in the IR hotel.

Both volunteers are talented singers and during the evenings, the IRs and Farida and Oksana sat together and sang. On the last evening, at the end of the State banket, the Referees surprised their volunteers. The IRs collected money amongst each other and bought a new guitar, a professional microphone and other useful materials for the girls as a way to thank them for their extra ordinary hospitality and support during the week. It was for everybody a great end of an extraordinary week!
