French Taekwondo Federetion will host the next Etu Coach Seminar on the 30th of April in INSEP ​(National Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance), Paris.
The Coach License is mandatory for all coaches who want to officiate at ETU and other G-ranked events worldwide. Your ETU Coach License will be accepted as well by all other Continental Unions of WTF while participating at events in their region.

The 4-day ETU European Taekwondo Championships Montreux 2016 will take place at the Salle Omnisports du Pierrier in Montreux, Switzerland from 19 to 22 of May 2016.

Interested media that are registered with AIPS or their national press association need to register here!

Applications received after 9 May 2016 will not be considered.

The official Press Conference will take place on 17 May 2016 in Eurotel Montreux and the draw will be delivered on 18 May 2016.

On 10 April 2016, the President’s Cup carried out its fourth and final day of competitions, with the first fight having started at 8 am and the last one finishing almost at 5 pm.

The competitions included all three categories of fighters and reached almost the 65 fights per court.  The athletes participating were 254 people and almost 40 fights per court were carried out.

The countries which ranked the highest in medals are the following:

Russia with 14 gold medals, 6 silver and 15 bronze. On the second place comes Turkey, with 10 gold, 4 silver, and 14 bronze, Croatia with 6 gold, 6 silver, 5 bronze, and finally Germany with 6 gold medals, 5 silver and 10 bronze.

At the end of the fourth and final day of the President’s Cup, the awarding ceremony was realized. The senior medalists’ trophies were awarded by the WTF President Dr.Choue, ETU President Sakis Pragalos, ETU Secretary-General Michael Fysentzidis and DTU President Park Soo-Nam.

The athletes’ trophy ceremony was followed by the awarding ceremony of the best President’s Cup referees.

Delegates from WTF, ETU and DTU, along with all the referees and volunteers gathered for photo souvenir after the ceremony and renewed their meeting in the next President’s Cup.

On 9 April 2016, the President’s Cup carried out its third day of competitions, having the first fight started at 8 am and finishing almost at 10 pm.
The competitions included all three categories of fighters and reached almost the 65 fights per court.  The athletes participating were 388 people and almost 65 fights per court were carried out.
The Check-in Registration and Weigh-in were continued for the teams that would compete on Sunday.
The spectator tickets reached their peak during the third day of the Cup, since many more seniors were competing and the participation was the highest during the 4 days of the Cup.
All medalists from the Junior category qualified for the European Under 21 Championships that will take place in Grozny, Russia on 22 July 2016, while the Senior medalists qualify for the ETU European Championships in Montreux, Switzerland on 19-22 May.

On 8 April 2016, the President’s Cup carried out its second day of competitions having the first fight started at 8 am and finishing almost at 10 pm.
Due to the high number of competitions during the day, the commencement of the competition day every morning will be at 8 am, though it was scheduled for 9am.
Similar as in the first day, competitions included all three classes of fighters. The athletes participating were 365 people and almost 60 fights per court were carried out.
Senior female Gold medal winners were also given designer leather bags as a gift for their achievement.
The Check-in Registration and Weigh-in continued for the upcoming teams to compete.
At 9 pm the VIP Ceremony was realized. Among all guests, the event was honored by the presence of the President of the International Paralympic Committee, Sir Craven, the President of WTF Dr. Choue, the President of ETU, Sakis Pragalos, the Mayor of Bonn city Mr. Ashok Sridharan, and Mr. Wilfried Lemke, Special Advisor of the United Nations.
WTF and ETU council members and delegates, along with DTU organizing committee members were also present at the event.
Sir Craven was awarded the honorary 10th DAN and spoke for the inclusion on Parataekwondo in the Summer Olympic Games of Tokyo 2020.
Αwards were also given to the other distinguished guests, while hostess of the exceptional night was Lisa Lents, former miss Denmark, besides a Taekwondo Champion.

On 7 April 2016, the President’s Cup passed through the baptism of fire.
Staged in the spectacular TELEKOM DOME arena in Bonn, the 6 courts that were set up for the event, hosted around 320 competitions only in first day of the event.
The first competition day of the President’s Cup included 374 athletes from 59 countries around the world registered to compete, and lasted from 9am until midnight.
The overall online registered athletes reached 1,588 people, yet around 1,800 athletes are officially competing after the check-in registration of teams.
The sum of all athletes, coaches and Team officials has exceeded the 2,100 people, as it was initially estimated.
The categories competing today were Cadets, Juniors, as well as Seniors.
All the senior medalists are automatically qualified for the European Taekwondo Championships in Montreux, 19-22 May in Switzerland.

Today the 99th WTF International Referee Seminar and Refresher Course started in Bonn Germany. More than 170 International Referees gathered in Bonn to be instructed on the latest developments in the kyurugi rules and regulations.

 

 

 

 
 
Please find below the draw of the poomsae for the President’s Cup in Bonn on 2 April 2016. 
 
There are two aspects regarding this 1st edition:
 
1.       The WTF-regularization for A-categories will be used
2.       Methode is Cut off system.
3.       Electronic TPSS scoring systems will used 
 
The name of the venue is HARDTBERG HALLE  - Gaußstraße 1  – 53125 Bonn – Germany.
Athletes will perform two poomsae at 1st ; semifinal and the final.
 
Scoring system: electronic scoring systems and (1x judge paper)  
 

 

 

ETU is hosting the WTF International Referee Seminar / Refresher Poomsae Course in Bonn Germany.
The OC is welcoming more than 150 new and existing International Referees from 38 different countries.
The seminar will last 4 days and will teach Scoring Criteria and Practice for Scoring, Practical Poomsae training, Competition Analysis and many other subjects.
The seminar ends on 4 April with a written and praxtical test. The week after the Poomsae Seminar, ETU will host the WTF International Referee Seminar / Refresher Kyurugi Course.
