Mouroutsos (Greece) was the first European athlete ever to win an Olympic gold medal. After winning the gold medal during the 2000 European Senior Championships, he managed to won the gold medal in the –58 kg division at the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Currently, Mouroutsos has his own taekwondo schools in Athens and is a successful businessman.
