On the occasion of the WTF President’s Cup 2017 - second edition, the athletes reporting was produced in the gorgeous city of Athens, where Taekwondo athletes took over the media by reporting and sharing some of their behind the scene stories to the audience.
The main characters of the project were, the double Olympic champion Jade Jones, the Olympic bronze medallist, World and double European Champion Bianca Walkden, World and European champion Achab Jaouad and 2014 European champion Aaron Cook.
The top-tier athletes were welcomed at the ETU Office in Athens and afterwards they had the chance to visit the multi-purpose Panathenaic Stadium. Known also as Kalimarmaro, it hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896 and was the venue for 4 of the 9 contested sports. It is the only stadium in the world built entirely of marble and is one of the main attractions in the capital of Greece.
The Taekwondo champions had a tour inside the historic stadium and later Great Britain’s Jade Jones and Achab Jaouad of Belgium interviewed each other on camera. An interview between a World champion whose major goal is an Olympic medal, along with a double Olympic champion who’s only missing the World champion title from her impressive collection.
Previously, the outstanding fighter from Liverpool, Bianca Walkden with the talented Aaron Cook, Moldovan representative, made their own interview “mission”. On the amazing Lycabettus Hill and Athens city as a background, they gave their exclusive answers to each other’s questions.
The finalized videos will be published promptly and the Taekwondo public will have the chance to enjoy the four (4) remarkable athletes in a unique edition of reporting, with the interesting parenthesis of their life and preparations.
